Dirschau / Tczew 1627 - The Game at Salute50
« on: 08 May 2023, 08:06:09 AM »
Blog post on my experience at #Salute50, putting on the Dirschau / Tczew 1627 game with the FOGH team.

In summary, it was fab! Many thanks to the South London Warlords who were great hosts as always. Thanks as well to everyone who came and looked at the FOGH games. Really enjoyed meeting people in person.

I thought this was one of the best tables I've seen. I'm still chuckling at the thought of you shaving your roads into teddy bear fur mats using a dog trimmer.  :)

Wow. Love how you represented the low/marshy/swamp ground. Excellent idea.

Superb looking game :-*
For the Polish Hussar issue, how about a broken lance marker attached to the relevant unit?

Cheers, Oshiro!

Many thanks, Paul!  My wife loves showing people into the garage when I’m doing something with faux fur and announcing “Just look what he’s up to now!”  lol .

Wow. Love how you represented the low/marshy/swamp ground. Excellent idea.

Cheers, Sepoy!  The marsh sections are from Debris of War in the UK.  ;)

Thanks, Matt!  It does give a nice 3D effect and is super easy to transport and store.

Many thanks, Levied Troop!  That’s a good idea for a marker.  I’m not a huge fan of too many counters etc.  It is worth a try though.  8)

This is great- am I correct in thinking you'll be at Partizan?

Sadly not, Valley Boy.  Some people have suggested that, after putting all of the effort to get a game ready, it would be a good idea to book it in to a number of shows. Unfortunately I haven’t done this because a. I’d not thought of it before (o_o), and b. it would mean having another weekend away from family duties.  If I do take the game to another show I will be certain to announce it on all of the regular social media. :D
