Start of a new range. Ultra Modern Ukrainian figures.

We have had some time away from our Ultra Modern Ranges to allow customers to catch up and us to wait for a few changes in weapons, kit, uniforms etc as things were getting a bit samey. It also allows customers to catch up with their painting.

We continued to release a few packs but we are now embarking on a new section around the Ukraine War. (yes it’s a war!)
The invasion of the Ukraine on the 24 February 2022 began a war that has changed much of the military teaching on tactics and strategy that has dominated NATO thinking for a generation.

It has also proved a melting pot for weapons of all sizes plus shown the relevance of everyday domestic items such as drones flown by hobbyists turned front line soldiers.

This range is intended to show the civilian soldiers involved. All physical shapes and sizes dressed in a mix of uniform and civilian clothing and equipment.   

First release is a pack of drone operators. The young chap is 'Skyba' with his Mavic 3 drone.

The older plump beardy chap is name unknown. Using a basic off the shelf domestic drone.   

More to follow. Also worth checking our other figures in the Universal Soldier and Chechen rooms as well as our Vehicles room that has a LOT of useful vehicles for the conflict. Oh and do not forget our Ultra Modern Russians 😉

It is, in my opinion, tasteless to make business like this out of an ongoing war. One thing are long past wars of the 19th century and before where the people involved have long since disappeared, but the timing of this and other "modern ranges" is off.

If you had at least donated the profits to the Ukrainian cause, it would have made it somewhat better, but still.
