The Pirate...sloop "Dog"
« on: 10 July 2023, 07:19:11 AM »

This is the other configuration of the FireLock 18th century Sloop. This is a much simpler Bermuda/Jamaican sail plan with minimal modifications: polystyrene sails, magnetic ratlines, removable flags to strike colors. I also lowered the Boom sail for ascetic value.  I couldn't help the theme, it was low hanging fruit for a pun. It also rounds out 38 ships for the convention in Oklahoma City next week.

Excellent work.  The sails are very authentic looking.

Edit: you've done the ratlines properly too!

Well, I for one, must insist - if you are going to have a pirate ship named Dog - that you find or modify a pirate figure to represent Dawg Brown (Frank Langella) from Cutthroat Island.  Don't forget Morgan Adams (Geena Davis).   ;) :D lol

Ha.  Yes, Cutthroat Island isn't a great film but it is still fun.  And, damned typos - fixed to Dog now.   >:(  ;)

Pirates of the Caribbean is pretty cock-eyed, too, but I have it on DVD - though I passed on some of the later versions, just got sillier and sillier for me.

How about the Crimson Pirate?  Or Errol Flynn versions?  So many pirate movies.

Hope you will put up a LOT of photos of your game - both here and on your blog.  Looking forward to seeing the new setup.  I might to a reprise of mine next year - but with a rather different take than before.  More of an "adventure" than a massive game - but that is relative when I say that!   :D :o ;) lol
