U.S. Terrain manufacturers
« on: 13 July 2023, 06:37:05 PM »
Hey all

I am looking to buy some French and Indian War based terrain (cabins, blockhouses, etc) but all the old miniature companies I once knew are gone.

Are there any US (I'll take overseas, as well) based non mdf-laser cut terrain manufacturers that carry this kind of stuff?

I'll take any recommendations (even stuff out of genre)

Thanks

Matt

Well, there’s The Miniature Building Authority & Old Glory, for starters.

Seems like MBA has a really limited range compared to what I remember and nothing that I could find that is from the AWI or F&I War
Old Glory's stuff is pretty dated and kinda pricey.

This is probably a longshot... but...

I would call Brookhurst Hobbies in CA. (714) 636-3580

These guys have been in business for decades and if anyone knew where to get what you want... it is them.

Seems the majority of 'current' terrain availability in the US (buildings, etc) is now with the 3D printing companies.  Price, of course, is always relative - most certainly to our budgets - but if you want the item you have to pay the price.

You did not specify scale but in 15 mm you might check out Stone Mountain Miniatures if they are still trading (last time I tried their website I got a warning about possible fraud - only a few days ago).  Not sure if they have a lot suitable for FIW though.

Good luck.

If you can find any Acheson Creations out there, that is where my F&IW terrain comes from. Great stuff! The owner has stepped back from active production, though I recently heard he was on Etsy, of all places. Miniature Building Authority carries some of his stuff, so you might send them a query.

-> I know you didn't want MDF... Buuuut these guys always looked good, and I got a few of their Sleepy Hollow buildings via their brief collaboration with 4Ground.

To balance out the unwanted MDF suggestions
- Grand Manner still do limited production of resin stuff in the UK
- Ironclad miniatures (Also UK) do a multi part fort, block house and a couple of small log buildings
- Perry/Rendera do some plastic cabins, barns and churches that should be available in the US (Albeit manufactured in the UK)
- Firelock games do a (I think resin) palisade fort as part of their Blood and Plunder range
Some of the OOP Architects of War resin buildings turn up on eBay occasionally. As a US company, I'd guess they are more likely to be found on US eBay than elsewhere

Search Etsy. There are thousands of available 3D printed terrain pieces.
