What's the best way to remove Vallejo texture paint from mdf bases?

I'm thinking about trying simple green as water isn't getting the base layer off. Any suggestions?

I would be inclined to just buy replacement bases, they’re very inexpensive from most sources. My suspicion is that any liquid with a strong enough solvent (or even water), is going to wreck the MDF base at the same time as it lifts the texture paint.

Just an after-thought - I have popped minis off of MDF bases (I just use white tacky glue to hold them on), then used a knife to peel edge of the acrylic based texture material put and pulled it off. The bases cleaned up well enough to be reused.

I agree, just bin the MDF bases, they will soak in whatever liquid you use.

From most bases (whatever material) I have attempted to re-use, I get very few that are useable.

FYI simple green worked like a charm. It only took about an hour and the texture paint peeled right off. Most of the bases were salvageable.

My bases are actually thin plywood and not mdf so maybe that made a difference!

I read this and agreed with the replies: MDF would be damaged by any removal, and also scraping off the paint would put the cancerous dust into the air, just buy new ones!

Plywood on the other hand is much more resilient to liquid and much less toxic!
