Gorgeous! They’ve got a very nice grimy look to them, really cool- love the flags as well :-*

Thanks! Lazy painting and a wash gets me as far as I'm interested as going at this scale.

The flags are my own design and are totally generic and ahistorical. Since I want to recreate a number of historic scenarios - as well as plain generic battles - I didn't want to tie myself to anything specific.
Focused on 6mm pike and shot and 28mm Frostgrave

Work continued on the late 1500s big battles project this weekend.

Slowly, but surely, but… slowly. Two bases of stradioti light horse and a single, small base of shot.

Frustratingly still having a – for lack of a better work – painterly effect with my Pixel 6’s camera. Looking into clip-on macro lenses that may resolve this issue.

With that said, apologies for the underwhelming photos!

Wonderful stuff; the painting, the basing and the labels are a very nice little package.

Lots of interesting things that can be represented on the battlefield at this time. One of the reasons I like it.

Beautiful :-*

Thank you!

Thanks. Since I'll only be playing this project with folks who will be unfamiliar, generally, with the era and the armies - and since I'm working up to about 20 units per side - I figured it would be helpful to label the units as a number will be looking very similar to one another.

My order of pikemen from Warprinter's Theatrum Europeum came in today.

If I’m to have any luck keeping momentum going with this large battles wargame project, then frustratedly cussing my way through affixing separate pikes to tiny 10mm scale figures isn’t the way forward. Pendraken’s cast-on pikes are too delicate to make that an option I’m interested in, either.
