The Land Rover and the Beetle look more like 4mm or larger.

I like them! Do not forget to add a lot of dust, for that African bushlands look :)

Completely agree.
These are fresh out the box.
I think it’ll be a process of painting out the windows, a dark wash all over, then, like you say, plenty of dust onto them.

I’ve been on the search for HO scale bungalows, and buildings to use as Rhodesian farms.
I’ve obtained a few plastic model bungalows, and some Sarrisa cow sheds / barns.
Has.been of this parish now has these items, with the plan of making a farm to battle for.

HO scale bungalow.

Doctors surgery bungalow that will be adapted and used.

Another bungalow and a bookings hall that will be adapted to fit into the farm.

Sarrisa cow sheds.
Roof covered in corrugated iron sheets.

Fencing - some plastic, and some mdf.
MDF Fencing

Plastic fencing.

Farm machinery (of varying sizes !) with shotgun armed farmer  lol

Thanks CaptJim,
Good to know my bits and pieces should do the trick.  ;)

The most characteristic feature of worn cars' paint is that it loses the factory gloss, it becomes matte, especially in a dusty environment. If you do not want to strip the diecast paint, then just spray it with GW Purity Seal (mask the windows), it gives a nice "worn" shine.

Agree about dirtying up the vehicles for the games.
Here’s a BTR 40 die cast, that I’ve repainted for the period and added a hmg.

And here’s a die cast landrover that I’ve mucked about with.

Could probably do with a wheel and tyre change, but it ain’t happening.

Well, it's obvious they've seen a few dirt roads....we have a fair number of dirt/stone roads around where I live, and people's vehicles all become one dusty/dirty color until rain washes them off.  Of course, they then get dirty again....

African village required.
Brilliantly made by Has.been.
Amazing what he can do with a tube of Pringle crisps and a bamboo place mat.

The same village being used in one of our WW1 east Africa games.

Just need some alouette helicopters circling it now.

The hut-burg looks good.  Even if it was has.been's handiwork... ;D :D

And a shotgun, an Uzi, and 2 SLR's oughta help defend the farm..  They look good, too.

CapnJim,
Like the old saying goes “when you run out of talent, OUTSOURCE!”  lol lol
Be afraid, as I’ve outsourced the farm buildings to him as well.  o_o
