Done Matt - need to arrange it! Wonder would Pete be interested?

Yeah, anything with dice and minis gets us both interested. :)

January, can we book it for January 😅

I played it with the London boys at the BLAM 2016. I fought Captain Blood and got really into it. That it will be released will be a dream coming true, so do it. I still have a lot of gladiators waiting for paint. Looking forward to it

Remember it well Dirk. ;) :)

Thanks Nurgle - that is nice to hear.

The plan is to print out the play sheets, dig out my Spartacus board game and give them a whirl .... if my printer works (haven't printed anything since Christmas past) and if I can remember where the box for Spartacus wound up.

I have updated the gladiator sheets ithoriel and resent a link - they would try to print to the edge.

Yeah I'm sure we can arrange that Matt.  :)

All good. New version downloaded. Board game found. Bleh! Waiting for printer cartridges!

Cheers!

Two former lanistas, Malamutius Calvus and Bibbles the Floss have come out of retirement to once again bring entertainment to the plebs.

Titus the Thraex (for Malamutius) takes on Marcus the Murmillo  (for Bibbles) at the arena in Londinium.

The match lasted around seven turns with both fighter being pushed the length and breadth of the arena. Both sustained wounds and gained favour from the crowd. Unfortunately for Titus he was wounded seven times including a fatal wound to the vitals causing him to collapse and forfeit the game.

Lots of fun, the crowd were definitely entertained and there will be further matches.  :)

At one point there was more food on the table than game  lol

Jolly good fun though and it didn’t take us long to get back into it really, even with the differences.

Looking forward to the expanded version  8)

You don't know how happy it makes me, seeing you two playing Blood on the Sands again.  :D

For a "first" match it sounds like you got through the rules well enough and it looks like an exciting enough match.

Just a query - Nick did Titus surrender an ACTION Dice due to his accumulated wounds? Some people miss this bit on the first play through.

Again gents - thanks for the support!

Yes he did.  You can see the missing dice on his play sheet :)

Played six bouts last night against a friend who is a board game enthusiast but not a wargamer.

My opponent had the hang of the rules from the off, after one reading. Score one for Blood on the Sands!

3 wins apiece suggests the game is pretty well balanced, we played 3 games with each gladiator with the wins evenly spread between the two.

Two outright kills, three spared by the crowd and one polished off at the crowd's insistence.

A bright spot in an otherwise miserable and dispiriting week.

Thanks, Furt!

Pleasure was all mine VonAkers and yes was pretty amazed at the gladiator collections everyone seemed to have.
