Two Burrows & Badgers warbands (Update: 2 more models)
« on: 25 December 2023, 05:22:10 AM »
One of my mates is doing an epic birthday party on January 6, a Badgers & Burrowers campaign day. All attendees received a 3D printed warband for Badgers & Burrowers and we have to paint the models before the day. On the day itself he will host several fully decorated tables with everything a gamer could want...in a pub! It will be glorious. But first I had to paint a warband. No, two warbands, because another mate doesn't paint anymore and I said I could paint his. And now they are both done.
First my own warband: The Nutcrackers:

Leader - Arthur Hodgers

Second in command - Curnox Blackwing

Maximilian Haggleworth

Hazel Pricklepie

George McKracken

Fergus Cragg

Bob

And then my mate's warband: The Tree Trunk Bonkers

Leader - Harry Beaver

Boef

Bugs

Filthy

Sonic

Johnny

Cavendish

Turtle

I'm very glad all 15 are done, but they were a lot of fun to do. Love the models and style and they paint up fast and nice.

Those are superb - I can't decide whether it's the fur or the hedgehog prickles or the vibrant colours that are my favourite aspect, stunning all round. The models are grand too, and superbly expressive. I love the frog and the assorted hedgehogs, but that Maximilian's expression is just too good  :o :-*

Wow.

Simply bananas. They hold up extremely well even at the highest magnification where you can see every stroke.

One tiny thing I did see on the very last fellow, Turtle - the noseguard on his helmet appears to have been painted as turtle skin? Or was that intentional?

Regardless, you two will be the belles of the ball, I suspect. Such wonderful painting!

Awww, thanks guys!

Those are superb - I can't decide whether it's the fur or the hedgehog prickles or the vibrant colours that are my favourite aspect, stunning all round.

Cheers! Yes, I like painting vibrant colours the most. I just love models that really pop on the table. And since I use Contrast paint for 90% of my basecoats, getting vibrant colours isn't very hard to do :)

One tiny thing I did see on the very last fellow, Turtle - the noseguard on his helmet appears to have been painted as turtle skin? Or was that intentional?

Well spotted! I saw that later too! I first thought it was a scaly bit on top of his nose, but later on I figured out it was the noseguard. Oh well :)

Absolutely beautiful.

Please post pictures of them in battle with the terrain too if you can.

Yes, will do! I think the games will be fantastic, so I'll make sure to take pictures.

Totally forgot to post some images from the birthday itself a year ago! But it was super epic, mate had done a stellar job on the tables and the games were tons of fun. 8 players duking it out with their painted warbands during 3 great games. Big success!

Next Saturday is his next birthday, so we're playing again and we received some miniatures to paint to add to the warbands. I got an awesome Red Panda Samurai and a mate got a turtle archer. I painted both and it's all done again for a great day of gaming!

Beautiful miniatures. Where did you get the pig? He is great and I know
he isn't from Oathsworn.
