Warlord French Resistance A/T Gun - what is this part……?

…….and where should it go?



I’m not sure if this is an aiming device or part of the firing mechanism but either way, I’ve no idea where it should go on the model. Can anyone help? I’ve included a crew member in the photo to show the size of the piece.
