THE DENTED BASCINET  HQ

I’ve just had an absolute joy of a multi genre wargaming experience.

The grand opening of the Dented Bascinet in Colesford, Gloucestershire  was eagerly anticipated for months and was a very rewarding experience.

Vince and Darcy have transformed a former cafe into a gaming hub and done an outstanding job of creating an atmospheric and themed venue.

The opening event attracted a variety of gaming genres from 40K , 28mm tabletop wargaming and D &D and Blood Bowl. What struck me was the friendliness and eagerness of the people both playing and visiting . Over the weekend some great ideas were exchanged and friendships formed . My mate Cookie and I laid on ‘An Alien Stole My Breakfast’ in 28mm based on the tv series UFO .

This for me is what wargaming should be about. This is fresh and inspirational, diverse and inclusive and exciting. What a fantastic venue and I cannot wait to revisit soon!

Cracking looking game mate!
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Excellent set up! I'd never heard of the Dented Bascinet, but I'll have to check it out the next time I am heading that way.

Two too many aliens on the table, more than was ever on screen at one time…i just read  that the producers only had two alien costumes made!  Where’s your realism!

Thanks so much everyone .

They’d have a fit then as there were three saucers and 12 Aliens on the table .👍

Wow - great looking game! Many of your hippies are the same figures I converted into street gang figures. So, it's humorous for me to see them in a passive role when they're normally out "bopping"... lol

Hope the game went well and your players enjoyed it!

Thanks Mike

We managed two games whilst chatting to visitors. In  the  second game the Hippies actually won a fight and resisted being abducted. However, poor Jimmy , too busy mooning the Aliens, got himself well and truly probed!

Great looking setup mate - very jealous

Shocked by the amount of forethought that has gone into your gaming...having multiple projects using the same terrain...
madness...it will never catch on   ;D

Daleks interrogating a washing machine: 'Take me to your top loader!'

Clearly they recognise the washing machine as an agitator.  :D
