One of the games run at last month's meeting of the Devon Wargames Group, was a Chain of Command recreation of French Commando activities in Vietnam in 1948.

Steve, our gamemeister, always comes up with intriguing and interesting historical themes and this made for a fun game as well.

JJ,
This looks like a great game.  I've been working on a Dinassaut unit myself.  Set out below are some photos of a Vedette FOM ("France d'Outre-Mer) I have have.  There's also a photo of a squad of Vietnamese commandos, kit-bashed from some Britannia Miniature Malay Policemen.

Great report and battle.  Too bad for the French commandos though.  As you pointed out, the VM can always "recruit" more fighters, but the French can ill afford to lose highly-trained commandos like that.  In any event, well done!
