I’ll add, too, that you shouldn’t feel shy about sharing pics of games or figures. While it is true that there are a lot of very talented painters and sculptors here, most folks aren’t competition- level and are valuable members. (I include myself in that latter category - I know which end of the brush the paint goes on, and a few tricks to get consistent results I am happy with.) The most important thing is joy in figures and the games we use them in, and it feels like everyone on this forum shared that, no matter what painting skill they have.

We disagree sometimes, but petty arguments and unpleasantness gets shut down much more quickly than I've found elsewhere, which keeps the air sweet. Generally we play nice together and everyone is only too happy to give advice when requested and encouragement when required

There are a few folks here that I had some serious nasty arguments with elsewhere….but here we “forget” (ant least I do) anything of the sort happened and conversations now are rather pleasant and helpful.

I really cannot quite tell what it is about.

Surely the answer to that is pretty much it can be whatever you want it to be about (keeping in mind forum rules, of course).
If you feel certain topics and discussions are missing then...well, start them! It's about adding and contributing as much as taking away.
