Missing Boards on home page?
« on: June 11, 2024, 01:52:23 AM »
Hi, I'm not sure if this should be a PM to an admin, but somehow I'm not seeing any boards on the LAF home page other than the 'Announcements and forum stuff' board. There was a while where I was only seeing the Announcements board and the 'other stuff' (workbench, photography, general, etc), but now that's all gone too. I can access the other boards by using the drop down navigation menu at the bottom of the page, or by following the navigation links at the top of forum posts, but it's strange that I'm not seeing most of the boards on the main page. If I log out, all of the boards are visible.

Is there a setting that I've clicked by accident, or is this a bug/error?

Are you using Google Chrome?

Another member had the same (or rather similar issue) last week and we could apparently solve it by logging out, clearing the browser cache (history, cookies, stored website data etc., minus saved access info), and it worked fine after that.

Given that I don't have any issues with various other browsers on different devices, I suspect it might be to do with a recent Google Chrome update.

In any case, I would suggest clearing your browser cache, restarting the browser, then re-loading the forum start page (using ctrl-F5 on a PC-based browser for a hard refresh), and chances should be that should do it. If it doesn't, please reply to this thread with non-personal info such as OS and browser used.

I'm using Safari on mac and iphone. They are on the latest versions in both cases, but the forum change wasn't related to any browser update as far as I can see. I've logged out of LAF, cleared caches and restarted the browser on both mac and iphone and when I log back in I only see the 'announcements and forum stuff' board on the home page.

I just tried using Chrome on the mac and it has the same issue.

It’s not the little black pointer on the right hand side of the main boards is it?

cheers

Could you perhaps post/attach a screenshot on how the forum start page appears when you load it?

OSHIROmodels that was it! Mystery solved. I must have tapped the button while scrolling on the phone. Thanks to both of you!
