Grim Forge Miniatures
« on: 31 July 2024, 07:15:20 AM »
Has anyone heard of this Italian company, Grim Forge Miniatures?

https://www.grim-forge.com

They have a lot of 'not-Warhammer' and 'not-Mordheim' style models which look really cool.

I ordered a miniature from their online shop a few weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing since. I emailed them to check on the status but received no response.

Anyone else had any dealings with them?

Yes, I’ve ordered from them direct & from their licensed printers on Etsy. They’ve been around a while. They offered quite a few metal models in the early days but seem to be focusing more on 3D printing & STLs recently.

The inlaws bought me some figures from them last year for my birthday - no idea on communication, but when they didn't show up the company sent another set

As providence would have it, I literally just got an email from them today saying my order was complete and would be shipped shortly!

The website is slow and I think most of the figures are resin, but it's good quality. I ordered the pit fighter character and wasn't disappointed!

The single miniature I ordered arrived today and is absolutely perfect; amazing sculpt and precisely what I want for my project. To quote the above post, I wasn't disappointed.

But, it took almost a month to arrive to the UK from the Netherlands, which is where the company seems to be based. That is quite a lead time for an item which was supposedly, according to the website, already in stock, and now (thanks to me), no longer is.

To be fair, the other way around takes at least as long these days ::)  Must be the customs process.

Best use the Etsy option next time, as that will let you pay taxes before shipping, avoiding queueing at the border...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I think there's more to this case than just customs queues.

I ordered a model from a shop in Berlin a couple of weeks ago and it arrived in one week, which is roughly what I would expect.

CurationsEmporium back in 2019 but, unfortunately, they appear to have shut up shop there.
