The Dook or Clint?
« on: August 16, 2024, 12:12:10 PM »
Was looking at my 28mm tributes to these Western Leg-ends/mythical Heroes.
So who in yer 'umble opinion's the main man, more importantly why?
 ???
"Wot did you do in the war Grandad?"

"I was with Harry... At The Bridge!"

CLINT hands down. It's all about the poncho and the cigarillos!

My personal favourite would be Steve McQueen, but within the constraints of the choices given, my vote goes to Mr. Eastwood, hands down  :D

Lee Van Cleef — topnotch in a white hat or a black hat, and that harmonica gun with a cigar in the final slot of the slide!

Clint all the way. Love his films and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" is my favourite western, with "Unforgiven" a close second.

Got to be The Duke, I have every rendition of him that Knuckleduster do in their GB range including a mounted Rooster Cogburn with the reins in his teeth. Just not sure I can't paint them well enough to do them justice.

Tom Mix, just to be different.  Even the Duke voted for him with his mimic of the iconic Tom Mix pose at the end of The Searchers.  Quick shout out for Lee Marvin in “Cat Baloo” and “Man who shot Liberty valance” as well.  Best film hands down is Liberty Valance, though it’s closely followed by “The Searchers” and “The good, the bad, and the ugly”, and many, many others…..

No, definitely not!
This my thread and it's serious research, type stuff. Then again after a re-cogitate you are permitted, on one condition...
I can nominate Sid James as the 'Rumpo Kid' in Carry on Cowboy.
