Well Mathias (Maceface) and Nicknorthstar were kind enough to send me a set of these exquisite new figures by Hornblower Miniatures. So I took a representative selection and painted a few.
They are very much in the style of the Copplestone Barbarica range and clearly designed to fit exactly with those. If anything, the detail and character on these little beauties is even finer than on the Copplestone originals - and an absolute pleasure to paint. Fair to say, I think, that Mathias has out-Copplestoned the Maestro himself (but also that they really work together as one range in terms of look, feel, size and style). A little bit of cleaning up of mould lines involved, but apart from that, these are really exceptional. I enjoyed them so much that I've now prepped the next 10, and am very much looking forward to see what Mathias comes up with next

Comparison with various Copplestone Barbarica figures. As you can see - a perfect match.
