Fred - it is the shape and size of the material, after that - I have no idea.  It is an odd term, probably a way to avoid the much more prosaic 'shit'.  A wild guess is it was a way to speak of horse crap on television with all of its rules about language usage, especially profane words.

On the wagon park - it is just beginning, there are more to come eventually.

blue willow - yes, indeed, little touches - I 'came of age' as a miniatures gamer looking at the early photos in WI with all that added stuff and I've always wanted my games to look like the best of those photos - scatter, casualty figures, civilians, animals (wild and domestic) roaming about.  Again, more to come - eventually, some sooner than later.

But first I have to focus on the 'stars of the show', the individually mounted/foot/dead sets of figures.  I have a bunch to paint besides those being painted for me.

Photos of latest progress on the blog: https://whiskeyhills.blogspot.com

Twenty-two painted characters mounted/foot/dead sets and a half dozen foot only/dead characters plus five dead draft horses to go with the wagons.

Going forward, probably most of the vast majority of photos on the blog.

Additional painted figures due for delivery a bit later this morning - some mounted/foot/dead and unarmed on foot civilians in groups of 12 plus 2 dead.  Hopefully get photos of those up soon - and photos of characters once bases and textured, maybe today, depends on wife's holiday village project (a Very Big project!).

That is a real towns worth of people. All mine, currently, are cowboys of one sort or another.
Good work.

First, The Great Distraction:

Wife's holiday village, around 60 square feet of 'stuff' - but makes her happy, recently added a bunch of stuff as a reminder of our trip to the UK this past May, acquired used so relatively cheap.

And, despite the distraction, managed to finish the assembly of the stock yard today and hope to have painted tomorrow.  Trains to work on today.

Most of the fence pieces are four bar but the loading chute area near the bottom are three bar fences, all from Stone Mountain Miniatures.  Been waiting a lot of years to get this built!  Finally done.  Liquid Nails made it a lot easier than it might have otherwise been.
