As a result of a long holiday and some business travel, January wasn't my most productive month. To keep up some semblance of progress, I give you Henry Cheator's large Regiment of Foot, still of the Royalist contingent.

I am still - very slowly - pushing along with this project. Below we have Edward Chisenhall's Regiment of Foot in arbitrary red and blue uniforms.

Finally, we have Prince Rupert's Regiment of Foot as a large unit in their famous blue coats.

This completes the Prince Rupert's Royalist infantry in regular regimental blocks. I still have to add some commanded shot and other unique formations, which is next on my list. And then Newcastle's infantry, tons of cavalry and of course the entire Parliament/Coventanter force... Slow but steady!

For March, I have decided to keep going with infantry regiments for now. That brings me to the Parliamentarian side. Here we have Fairfax' and Bright's Regiments of Foot.

I have also completed a page for this collection in the style of my other projects. Mostly empty entries for now, but this will build up over time.

Switching over to Parliament, here we have Sir Hobart's Regiment of Foot described as "Hobart's Redcoats".

Scaled to Warlord's EPIC size, we have four resin-printed buildings.

Agreed, nice buildings - nice to see wonky roof lines. There's a few true 15mm MDF buildings around now, but to me they just look much too square and neat. Which would be fine if it was a representation of some Inigo Jones architectural masterpiece, but not for most buildings used by the hoipolloi. I know they are printed and are therefore scalable, what height to the roof apex are they? And where did you get them from? (I have neither the space or inclination to have a 3D printer, so purchasing printed models would work for me). Have a look at the Hovels buildings too 75mm to roof apex, so true 15mm but with a reduced footprint (there's a few reviews of them over on my blog, which I'm guessing you have used for your coat colour references).

On the subject of historical hat colours for Fred, from surviving examples pretty much shades of  brown all the way, woollen Monmouth and Montero caps were more brightly coloured. Royalist Oxford issue included matching red or blue Monteros. Surviving Monmouth cap is a dark brown, but similar style contemporaneous Dutch whaling fleet 'beanies' are multi coloured, some are striped.

Your RoF look good, I think those with muted hats look much better, but I understand your artistic reasoning. Can't help but think they'd benefit from some individual halberdiers barking orders at the musketeers (as in Streeter's Plan). Surely Warlord have missed a trick there - there's quite a few things missing from the range that I'm surprised they haven't filled.

I noticed that your reference material is Young and the Osprey. Young has some good material but Is quite dated now, the Osprey is dire.

The buildings are from the "City of Tarok" kickstarter set which can also be bought individually. There are also some stores selling prints. Mine are home-printed. The designs are for fantasy but there aren't any overtly fantastic design elements so I think they fit well enough for good old England. I scaled them so that a Warlord figure hits his head on the door frame. In other words, just a little bit too small which I think works well for grand battle games.

Regarding hats, the challenge with the Warlord strip is that there isn't a lot of visible jacket. Sides are obscured by the other figures, fronts by their weapons. I tried painting some units with the more typical brown hats you simply don't get much visual distinction that way. This would probably not be a problem with individual 15mm figures but the strip format really limits visible clothing.

Helge, it wasn't a criticism. I agree that painting those strips is very much akin to painting flats, I was answering Fred's comment on page 1.

Thanks for the info on the buildings. Might have a look on Etsy to see if anyone has them on there.
