That a cracking model and a serious bow - like it a lot. Remind me what make it is?

Doug

This model is from Hasslefree miniatures in the UK, sir. Sculpted and casted, all to a very high quality, crisp, clean and nary a mold line. I believe the owners are having some serious health issues to battle with, so orders may take a little while to being sorted, but I have had excellent service from them in the past. The Elvis impersonator with a handgun is also a very cool figure.

Thanks for the info - some very nice figures there, no doubt. Bit pricey though :(

I have high hopes that I will be able to finish all the stuff in time for our premier gaming of Last Days in about a month's time.

Yesterday, having a rare Sunday to myself, I finished painting the remaining 10 zombies. They are literally "bodies on the floor" so quick very quick pj's. No significant "screen time" so that'll do  ;).

I also finished off the plastic kit 1/48 police motorcycle I have. I found the water transfers a VERY challenging affair  >:(. If they didn't stick, they stuck to anything but the intended bit! Only through sheer bulldogged determination did I manage to see it through. This did put me off so much in fact, that I doubt I will finish the helicopter that also comes with this kit, and have even MORE transfers to fit  :o! Did not enjoy that at all!

It's done now anyways.

(EDIT: The bloody water transfers on the clear plastic come off!!! Sod that!)

Well...at least it looks nice!  :D I am hopeless when it comes to decals and water transfers, too.  lol

It looks great - would you mind reminding me who makes it?

The bike does look good.

I generally have good luck with decals, but every now and then...

Thank you sir! It was nice to assemble and painted up well, it was just the decal debacle  :-[. It's an Academy Police Helicopter 500D 1/48 plastic kit. Got mine off Ebay for about £11 with p&p. I might just skip the decal's for the helicopter.

I’m very tempted by that and the chopper would come in handy as well.

Thanks for the info.

Small update to the project. In December I decided that I wanted to do some zombie apocalypse gaming this year and I bought some MDF buildings, minis etc. I have given myself a deadline by April, as we plan to try out the Osprey Last Days rules then.

Bar a handful of survivors and one MDF building, I am pretty much there  :D. I got some bonus spare guns (variety of assault rifles, handguns, shotguns) and some pouches/ packs, which are a great addition that I probably will put some paint on as well.

Today, I cut out the scenery from the last remaining MDF building. 15 sheets!  :o It's the PCPD Main Building from TT Combat. A prison in other terms  ;). I hope to have time to dry fit it, paint and assemble over the coming week.

Current state and what it (hopefully) will look like when finished. Rattle cans for the major part will be the way forwards with so many pieces.

What does PCPD stand for? Politically Correct Police Department? :D

Looks like you’ve got a few bits to sort out but it looks like it’ll be a valuable addition to your scenery - look forward to seeing it done.

Doug
ps: what does "rattle cans for the major part……."mean? That’s one I’ve not heard before ;)

i think PCPD is anyone's guess  lol! I have tried to figure that out on the TT Combat page, but so far I've failed. Pig City Police Department maybe  ;).

I look forward getting that "last piece" of terrain built, but have a blister on my finger from all that cutting  :o. Many, many pieces, both large and small  :o.

I am unsure whether it's a British or American term, but "rattle can" means a normal spray can. The ball inside, when you shake it to mix the paint makes a rattling noise, hence the term  :).

Legionnaire.

Good luck with the build! I had an interesting experience with an MDF building recently. First off, I suck at jigsaw puzzles. After failing to put together another much smaller and simpler MDF kit by the same manufacturer (Dad's Armies -- who purchased the Impudent Mortals line), I gave up on the two bigger ones. I took them to a local convention where the same manufacturer was going to be a vendor.

I sheepishly put them on his vendor table and confessed there was no way I'd ever be able to put them together. He asked if I wanted him to put them together for me? I said, "Sure! How much?" He said no charge, but it might take awhile for him to get to them. I explained they were NEVER going to get done sitting in my closet, so any timeframe was better than never. Wouldn't you know it, but he had the largest one completed before the end of the convention? That's service!  :-*

What a gentleman!  :-*

I have found MDF buildings very pleasant to work with. I like the smell of MDF, I like the price and I like working with it.

Sure, my first tries were probably a very frustrating bish-bosh bash affair, get it assembled on the table and play as it is. That was fine back then. But we all get better as we work with new stuff.

These days, I always give the material a quick wipe with a damp cloth to get rid of residue from the laser cutting. I then cut everything out and most importantly, I dry fit the whole build before I do the next thing. That saves me a lot of headache and I can see if I make any mistakes etc.

Then, I "colour code" the pieces, I mainly just spray paint them. Then, only after that is done do I do the final assembly.

I sometimes add wall papers, carpets etc but I am very happy with my efforts, it's very satisfying to see the finished piece. I enjoy the quiet focus when working. I have no pod casts, no music no tele on to distract me.

Regards,

Legionnaire.
