Narrated by Ethan Hawke; features footage - much I haven’t seen before; best part is they are pulling interviews from both sides behind the footage. That makes it different. Very poignant in spots, and some stories behind key events I haven’t come across before. Well worth the watch.
Food for thought.
Mind you, I've only watched the first episode, but so far the show seems rather sparse on details or reasoning as to why anything happened. Post-WWII French conflict in Indochina? Not mentioned.
American build-up, involvement with the Southern government, etc? Naw, they just teleport in sometime in '65.
Ia Drang? Lasted about ten minutes, from what I could tell

Production values are high, and there is a ton of new (to me, anyway) footage, which is awesome. I'll watch the rest of the series, but without the expectation that I'll actually learn anything.
