Yes, lot's of pointy bits. I was inspired by Aircavs latest posts and after running into a hard plastic Space Shuttle Boosters section at the Goodwill, well, it was just meant to be. So from this:

And with this as the end result:

They are excellent storage, towers, scenics, etc.  Your painting and weathering come out great.

Yup, sponge painting. Easy to (over)do once you get the hang of it. I use it a lot, then do toutch ups with a small brush and very thin paint if I need to. Most I do with my hangs and a bit of foam, small parts work easier with a small clamp and tiny bit of foam. As long as you rotate it often it stays random, if not you start to get a repeating pattern.

It's fun, try it.
