Stormcast Eternals Army - Update: Part TROIS!

Hello, friends. Here's the test figures for (what I hope) will become a full Age of Sigmar army for a gentleman in Vienna.



I haven't painted many Stormcast Eternals so far, and honestly never played a single game of Age of Sigmar, so it'+s a nice opportunity to dip my toe into that range.

I mean I read the AoS rules when they came out (and was kinda taken with the morale rules, which they later incorporated into Warhammer 40,000), and they look perfectly serviceable. I mean I generally don't hear much moaning about the AoS rules.

So yeah, hope that you like the figures and that I get to do this project in the very near future!

Right, here's a bunch of WIP things. I sure hope they get over well so I can proceed with the figures swiftly. Those, as well as 15 dudes on foot (some of which have to be built and haven't even arrived yet) will have to be finished in a week.

They do look quite good. It’s a much different palette and I feel that it suits the figures well. Those dragons are really striking.

@Pattus Magnus: Cheers! It's also the first time I'm painting a larger number of Stormcast Eternals, and that - along with the colour scheme - got me thinking. I mean basically they are Chaos Warriors, aren't they. And that colour scheme is pretty much the colour scheme I painted a large Warhammer chaos army in about 15 years ago. (because when in doubt, you go red-black-white. It's not refined or clever, but it always works) Interesting to get to spend a bunch of time with this wholly "new" army and some of the design choices behind them.

@Elk101: Cheers! The order was to make them orange-red on top, black at the bottom. To be perfectly honest, I don't paint a lot of huge monsters (and I seriously underestimated the size of these dragon riders) without a firm idea of what they should look like, so I probably made a few steps too many. But maybe it was just the right amount in the end. Who knows. I'm just glad they're done. And I like red dragons in general and know they work.

So yeah, I sent the pictures to the customer, he said that they looked 'mega', so I can proceed and hope to do so swiftly. The big dragon (not really visible in the picture, but the sitting dragon is even bigger than the flying ones) still needs a lot more work, but right now I'm doing the hippogryph riders, and I rather feel at home with those.
