Some few comments about the battle report. It's all a personal opinion from me, others might think differently.

It might be better at the beginning to show of the overview above the battlefield with a mounted camera, so that it is not moving.

While presenting the armies you could either use photos of the units and blend them in, or move the camera closer up in a slow movement from left to right. Now you presented us the Normans with a look their backs while the Saxons got shown more close up from their chocolate side. If that is not reflecting for which side your heart beats I don't know what else  lol

I have never seen a shield wall marker before. That's a very nice idea which I need to introduce at my game rounds too to have some simple reminder on who is at the shield wall. Lovely idea!

It somehow seems like you want to use your battle report to also explain the rules. That's not a bad idea but it prolongs the battle report even more. It's long enough to just watch it beside doing some kitbashing or painting but then I can't pay attention to the rule remarks which are made. Perhaps it would be better to separate them? Ash and Stone for example made some little videos to explain the basics of the Oathmark rules while doing short narrative battle reports to give a better feeling for how the game plays. Not sure if that sounds good for you.

Hi Mikai, thanks for the constructive feedback, I'll be sure to integrate this into videos in the future.

You are right,  I have been posting the battle reports recently as single player game to try and explain rules and why I do certain things as best as possible (feedback I received previously). As the rules are relatively new I try to condense as much explanation as I can into the video when things are resolved so people that watch can get a feel for how the game plays out.

I have had a few discussions about future videos and some have mentioned it may be good to just play out a game as we would normally (1v1) and not over explain things that are being done. This would be a top down view of the battlefield, so do you think that would be good?

I'm glad you like the shield wall marker, I'll have to admit that it wasn't my idea, and I can't remember who I stole it from  lol

As for the shorter videos, we have done some (very basic ones) for the generic mechanics of the game in separate videos.

I could also try smaller point games, which in turn would be resolved more quickly, and would still allow me to fit in the explanation...

Thanks again for letting me know your thoughts about the report, It's still early days for me doing these, and I know there will always be things that can be improved!  :D

Mixing it together with a preview of the armies and while doing some narrative explanation with zoom in of what's going on at specific places is what most times hooks me to the battle reports. At some few times a speed up of the movement phase is working well too, giving you the opportunity to explain a bit at a round review of why some of those movements have been made. That's all my personal opinion, different people like different stuff. When I saw that you posted a new battle report I immediately clicked on it before I recalled that they are pretty long. That's not a bad thing per se because I can watch it while doing some other hobby work. Doing that other hobby work only distracts me sometimes enough to not be able to follow up on those rule explanations.

That's how things go around at a community  :D

An alternative to a smaller point game would be to have special events which happen at some regular battle report. One of those moments at which you say, well, that's a perfect opportunity to explain some gameplay rule or some strategic challenge within the rules, that it's worth some additional video edit cut. You would only need to film it at the same time with more detail and have two videos as output, one short with the situation and more details about rules/strategic background and one with the regular (narrative) battle report.
