Due to an early birthday of a print of The Defence of Rorkes Drift it's inspired me to start a project of the battle. I really like the Empress and Perry figure ranges as both have something different to offer so I was wondering how they scale together so I can put together the defenders with a nice bit of variation. Many TIA

I think you'll be fine. For my money they go together without any scaling issues.

I have some of each on the painting table right now. Though don't have anywhere to host pics at present (any recommendations appreciated :))

Empress somewhat slighter, but would look fine on the same table. I have used both to add auxiliary troops to my BTD line.

Pretty close I'd say.
I've used the Hicks-sculpted Empress Maori Wars figures alongside Perry figures of a similar era, and they're a very close match in stature and height.

Thanks very much for your feedback all, it's very much appreciated. Metals for the defenders but I'm seriously considering plastics for the Zulu just by sheer weight of numbers and an already stretched bank balance. . .

You can host/upload pics on these forums in the Gallery section and link them to posts as well.

The Perry plastic Zulu are fantastic figures -probably the best Zulu out there - so I wouldn't be worried about settling for plastics :)
Here are few I painted a while back...
(I really must do some more - they're a lot of fun to put together and to paint).

Thanks bc99, good options. It seems I can also insert an image
directly into a post.

Thank you very much indeed Captain, that's really useful to know and looking at what you've done with them some real inspiration. It's a project and game I've always wanted to do and have at last decided to start.
