Hi Maceface. Firstly, congratulations on a fantastic range. I've been plugging away at some 18mm historicals (Wiglafs) and have fallen in love with this scale. If I could just finish the projects that are already in progress I would be all over this...
Secondly, if I keep seeing yours and Pattus' 18mm armies I'm not sure how long I'll be able to hold out. Your units look sick. There's lots of inspiration and eye candy here.

Thankyou! It's getting close to one year of the Hornblower range, so will be exploring more factions to fill out the "setting".

Are you keeping that project fully historical? I've got some bog-body style undead coming out this month, that could fit against Anglo-Saxons for sure!

I'm trying to make sure the models share some sort of gear/accessories or materials to help bridge the gap between the sculpts buuuut working on some Male norse that will sit somewhere between the shieldmaidens and Copple barbs.

Most likely tunics and chainmail as to not double up heaps. I think the mix of many packs will look great in the end. Copples beefy champions are really great and add some body shape variation.

Also doing some half-giant packs that will act as Ogres (aprox 23-25mm tall). I feel these small figures need some height variance in the units to give a good look on the battlefield.

I'm looking forward to seeing these: a fantasy Norse army has definitely been on my list of projects to do. Will they resemble your 3d print designs?

Finally completed the LVL 3 Savage command for Midgard, and have quite a few new packs on the painting table now.

Next up in the painting queue are more Savages, and some yet to be released Valkyrie Cavalry!

The elite "huscarl" style unit for the Shieldmaidens (or broader Norse Barbarians). The foot unit has 2 handed weapons, where the cavalry use hunting spears (they could be elite monster hunters...).

The Cavalry are one piece castings that have allowed me to play around with the dynamism in the hair/braids, flowing cloaks, aggressive lance poses and winged helmets!
