Those are wonderfully painted.  My favorite of GW's trolls.  I managed to get one of each Stone Troll of that generation back in the day (I think - 3 one-piece models and 3 with separate heads?), but must repaint them myself someday!

Not really knowing my WH lore - can I ask why stone trolls are blue? Would kind of expected blue for river troll?

That's the "official" colour scheme, as decided on by the Eavy Metal painters. You'd have to ask them why, I'm not sure there's anything specific in the lore.

Mine were painted up in various shades of brown. Sandstone trolls, to go with my desert goblins.
