Curteys/1st Corps
« on: 21 March 2025, 04:51:07 PM »
Does anyone know if Curteys/1st Corp are still going?
Didn't 1st Corps sell off some of their moulds to Gripping Beast?
That, along with just looking at their website and it saying they are not attending any shows this year (which, by and of itself, is fair enough, yet at the same time...), makes me wonder if they are still going.
I wanted some of Curteys' medieval heads and was hoping they would be at Salute but they don't appear to be listed as attending Salute (which, again, is fair enough) so I looked at their website and it seemed stuck in 2024.
Anyone know anything, or am I just being a git?

I'm certain they are still going and releasing new products. I don't think I've seen them on the show circuit since lockdown. That said I do wonder about the economics of traders attending many shows, no matter how much I like to see them there.

1st Corps are most definitely still going, only spoke to Mick a couple of weeks ago. They no longer attend shows as traders, but do put on lovely display games at the Newark shows. Their website took a hit a while ago, but it's all sorted now.

Had to go take a look.  GB has Front Rank, Calpe, and Lurkio (coming soon).
Glad to see GB is working to keep some of these smaller/specialized lines available.

Ah, Front Rank. That's it.
I got confused between 1st Corps and Front Rank selling off to Gripping Beast.
Thinking it was 1st Corps and seeing their Shows page hadn't been updated since 2024 made me wonder if they were up the swanny.
Fair enough then.
It was, indeed, as I suspected - I was just being a git.

Shame they're not attending Salute though. I only want a couple of packs of 'heads' and it's not enough to make an order.

BlueWillow, are you hoping to see 1st Corps at Partizan? If so you may be disappointed as I can't see them on the trader's listing.

Yes we are still in business, we don't attend shows with a trade stand any more but do put on demo games at the 2 Partizan shows.

Orders can be placed via the website to collect at the show.

Got a pile of US miniatures for my US/Mex war project recently, great figures and really quick turnaround, so yes still going and well recommended! :)
