Broken Pencilsharper? Nah, a scifi doohickey you mean!
« on: 21 April 2025, 09:37:47 PM »
Turned a broken pencil sharper into a bit of scatter with some additional bits, a base and a quick paintjob. 28mm figure and older scatter for size. Another item saved from the trashbin.

It is only broken if you can't use it as terrain.  Otherwise it is an interesting bit.   lol
Very nice work and it certainly fits the bill for a bit of sci-fy scatter.

Brilliant work on a piece of terrain - from idea to execution. One might say it’s… really … SHARP ;)

The great thing about sci-fi doohickeys is you don't have to explain what they do. They just have to look cool.  Nice work.

Balls. I knew I forgot something.

Only slightly wistful in comparison to awesomesauce result.

Just wondering, was that the sharpener case or 'innards', as I went looking for similar and couldn't find something to allay my curiosity.

Doug, the lower part with the "ribs" is actually the screw on/off top that held the 2 pencilsharpners, everything above that was the transparant part that held the shavings. So it is up side down.

I had picked this up during one of my office jobs in the early 2000's, and the basic model is unchanged, just the bit with the sharpners went from a ribbed bit to one with 2 slanted sides, like these: https://www.marjospeelgoed.nl/media/catalog/product/cache/4bd788211a16205d940f35aaa3cf145c/1/2/120185_a_kopieren_1.jpg

Thanks so much!

I fear dealing with the idle queries is more effort than the project itself...  ::)

I did say awesomeness, though!
