So, what happened to Zen Terrain?
« on: April 23, 2025, 03:00:35 PM »
Does anyone have an idea what happened to Zen Terrain? As far as I can tell, they were a small MDF-terrain producer from Poland active on the market around 2017. they had some very interesting designs, mostly geared towards Infinity and other 'clean' scifi settings, and I kind of liked their offerings.

One product that stood out especially was a large building that featured an elevator, multiple floors, a landing pad and it doubled as a dice tower too!

As far as I can tell, Deep Cut Studios (of gaming mat fame) have taken over the remaining stock and are still selling it off, but of course the nicest stuff has gone already.

I'm not even desperately looking to buy that particular building (yet ::) ), but I'm just really curious as to what happened to the line and company...

+++EDIT+++ BOLS seemed to have blocked hotlinking the pictures after a couple of days, so I've uploaded them here, just in case.

My guess, the pandemic did for them.  I bought a bunch of their stuff about 10 years ago and grabbed a few extra bits from Deep Cut when I realised they'd disappeared.  It's a shame, I could really use that building and the police station.

Huh, hadn't seen them since maybe 2018 when we were looking at 40K tables for an event.  Hexy Shop is/was a nice source as there were so many "small" Polish hobby companies out there - having them mostly in one place was excellent.

I'm always intrigued with smaller EU companies like this and how dependent they were/are on the UK market. I wonder how big an impact Brexit has had too.

WTH? All of a sudden hotlinking to the pictures has been blocked?

I can't imagine linking a few of their pics on the LAF has flooded their bandwidth all of a sudden  ::)

I'll see if I can download them and host them here then  :?
