BCW Project and Regimental Wiki Update
« on: 08 May 2025, 07:02:41 PM »
Good evening. A little glimmer of good news on a Thursday evening...
Work has begun on restoring the BCW Project and Regimental Wiki to its rightful place on the information superhighway.
Just a heads up: it's not going to be a quick fix.
It will be returning at a slightly different URL www.BCW-Project.org.uk
I've redirected a blog to that domain as a way of keeping people informed of developments, and it will also be where we ask for help when required.

Thanks for the heads up. Hadn't heard of the project and have only just started getting interested in the ECW - having looked at the entries on the wayback machine, it appears you've all been doing all along what I had just started planning to do - lists of regiments, strengths and battle locations, and also OOB for each battle.

That's very good news. It's a great resource but misnamed, lol. Ireland isn't Britain and whenever Scots invade England or English invade Scotland, it isn't a civil war. It's why ghastly academics started calling it the 'War of the Three Kingdoms,' but heyho.

It's coming back online slowly. The project pages are back as they were before it was lost. New address is BCW-project.org.uk (no www, long story).

The Regimental Wiki is mostly back, lots of links to the old domain need manually changing. But it's back! Link on Project needs fixing (it's on the 'to do' list). In the meantime you can find it directly at wiki.BCW-project.org.uk

I think ECW will suffice for me as the English or at least the English sovereign or parliament were typically the catalysts of much of the unpleasantness, even when it largely or wholly involved others.  I think even Ian Paisley at his most bombastic wouldn't have entertained the notion that a majority of the Irish populace were indeed British. It's certainly a snappier way to describe something than The Decade and a Bit Unpleasantness Involving the Kingdom of England, her Next Door Neighbours and Nearest Colonial Dependencies.
