Ork fanfiction
« on: 20 May 2025, 03:49:55 PM »
Hi all,

I remember reading a work of fanfiction telling the story of an Ork Blood Axe Nob  and his rise to Warboss status, with assistance of his trusty Grot assistant and a human woman advisor? Unfortunately, my Google-Fu is weak, I can’t find any clues to where the site is.

Can anyone hear help?

My thanks in advance.

Can't help sorry, but I'm very intrigued by this, especially as it involves Blood axes.

No idea, I'm afraid. But this might not be the best forum for that request. Have you considered looking or posting on fanfiction.net - it might be there in the Games-Warhammer section, or someone might know of it if you ask on the forums?

Didn’t GW do a book about Blood Axes? It sounds familiar. Not fan-fiction, but Black Library.

I have most of the Ork stuff, Mike Brooks is the main writer of the bulk with Nate Crowley doing some too.

Warboss has some Blood Axe references, and is fun. All the Ork books are fun, frankly. Like Orks.  :D

My thanks for the replies, chaps. It was definitely fan fiction rather than GW book, and covered the only Blood Axe Ork left on a planet conquered by the Orks, who is detailed by the Warboss to sort out awkward problems. The writer either used it as a back story for his Ork army, or vice versa, as he had pictures of character figures on his site. I’ll keep looking :-)

Got it. It was the Hazug Files.

Well, waaagh! to that! Wonderfully crude and yet Orky conversions, goblin green bases even! And a website that is wonderfully dated to go with it. Everything that says Orks at their peak of fun. Love it!

This was my last favourite Orks project:

Yes, I’ve seen those ‘bubblegum’ paint schemes before - they really ‘pop’ :-)
