VBCW - Special Operations
« on: December 11, 2009, 03:46:04 PM »
First of my mysterious, and somewhat barking unit of "Special Operations" troops, for the Yorkist Front - still WIP, haven't finished off the bases, and the weapons need tidying up a bit.

Reconnaissance

The obligatory horse costume, from Foundry - strangely enough, I was looking at toy cows (to saw in half) just days before they released the panto horse.  Cows will make an appearence at some point, as backup....

Infiltrators
Seeing as men of the cloth are often armed belligerents, in VBCW, the infiltration team opted for nun outfits....at least I think that was the reason....

Artizan Goumier, with the webbing removed - the praying "nun" is Foundry, and the priest is from Empress SCW range.

this is rich, I like  :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Excellent... with you and Hammers, there is no hope of VBCW ever being considered a 'proper' wargames period.  lol

There are already far too many "periods" which people take far too seriously....before you know it, people will be posting long lists of units on the internet..... ;)

Hahah, awesome. I must say though, that praying nun looks a touch man-ish.

The nun is a man, he's the one from the Foundry Dad's Army Collection............

Somewhere in Britain a BUF officer comes across a neglected Catholic Church. He has done a great many bad things, perhaps he can pray,it might make him feel better? He goes in,a light over the confessional tells him it's occupied by a Priest. Some succour when he least expected it.He enters and kneels.

"Forgive me Father I have sinned,it has been 6 months since my last confession".

The Priest answers "Tell me all my son".

He does so,it is a long and sinful confession the BUF officer makes,at last he finishes. The Priest is silent except for the click of what the officer assumes are rosary beads.

  "So Father,what is my penance"?

" The penance? Oh yes the penance is (blam) death (blam)".

   Nice figures,great idea.

Could always use in a skirmish game - tring to sneak past a checkpoint/patrol.

The enemy aren't allowed to fire, unless they "notice" that it isn't a real horse - eg take a test when get within 5"....

Clearly there is a need for a 'He's behind you' chance card, along with mutually negating 'Oh yes he is/oh no he's not' ones.  :)
