Oldhammer Undead Standard Bearer
« on: May 28, 2025, 02:20:18 PM »
When I first saw this figure when it was released back in the mid-to-late 90s I thought that it was the epitome of what a perfect, modern figure looked like. It had so much movement and dynamism, with its flowing tattered clothes and its swinging bell. I thought that miniatures couldn't get better! Here we are almost 30 years later and I still think it's great, but I do see how it's a little goofy still, carrying with it still a lot of that early 90s goofy proportioned Warhammer miniature style (like that bone sword pommel). I still like it a lot, so I went out and picked it up on eBay even though I absolutely do NOT need any more undead standard bearers, and finally painted it up.

thanks
n

That turned out great! I think it is a pretty good kit, especially by the standards of earlier sculpting.

Great stuff -- love the standard bearer. And sometimes, you just have to paint what you want to paint, whether you actually need it or not. I have some figs I've painted that have never seen the light of the tabletop, but they were cool figures that I wanted to do.

Well I can't unsee that now. Great paintjob all the same, love how much it pops... very appropriate for an oldhammer model.
