28mm US Cavalry for the Mexican Punitive Expedition
« on: 11 June 2025, 10:24:54 AM »
Morning LAffers

Any suggestions for sources of 28mm US Cavalry suitable for the Mexican Expedition?
Mounted versions ideally

I am aware of the Old Glory range.

I am based in the UK
thanks in advance!

If you are prepared to do head swaps then RKX do a line of US Cavalry for the Philippines. They are wearing steel helmets but the rest of the kit looks about right.

Crooked Dice produce Montana hatted heads.

Brigade Games produce dismounted Cavalry. They are rather nice, they're Paul Hicks sculpts if I'm not much mistaken.

Alas, postage from the US will make them rather pricey.

Save for Old Glory, nobody makes a Benét–Mercié machinegun that I'm aware of.

And that's pretty much yer lot in 28mm.

How about Grubby Tanks, who hold the Britanina Range, 'Across the Rio Grande'

Some of their Western figures might be useful too.

God those are awful.  :o :o

You might as well go with OG. Actually, that particular OG range isn't too bad overall, better than most of their offerings and definitely a lot better than  those Britannia monstrosities

YMMV.

Never mind, you can forestall any negative remarks by saying you carved them yourself from bits of coal. You were aiming for a copy of the Lewes chess set but got carried away.  :D
