I like the way they've got across the weight of the chainmail.
It looks like there's padding beneath and it sags in the way chainmail sags.
So often on miniatures chainmail is depicted as a flowing cotton material caught in the breeze, or as a skin-tight metal leotard.
But they've got the look right on those examples.

As much as I like the Wargames Atlantic Medieval stuff, Victrix is just so high quality.

Completely agree. Victrix is still a notch or two above WA in terms of detail/quality. I do wonder though whether this may be costing Victrix time in terms of the number of sets they are launching. The run rate seems down on 2023/24. Meanwhile, WA, in terms of the sheer number of plastic sets they are pumping out, has upped a gear or two. Between these two companies it's a pretty good period to be a miniatures hobbyist.

I have come to realise over the years that I like a more simple and definitely more chunky-sculpted figure (Copplestone style, etc), and so I personally find Victrix to be horrible to paint due to a lot of the very fine and sometimes spindly detail*. But, these look excellent. I fully agree about the depiction of chainmail on these and the poses are all fantastic. I wonder if this medieval range could THE Victrix range I love to paint...

* often over-sculpted wrinkly cloth, spindly thin weapons, the not-limited-to-Victrix plastic posing/extras glued on that make them hard to paint with lots of hard to reach areas, etc etc. Building them is a bit of a mission for wargaming armies as well...

Gibby if you want chunky take a look at 3D Breed prints.  They are really quirky and I think that they are great figs but not to some people's taste

These look fantastic, and based off the paint work and transfers i feel they know these are going to be popular for Barons War and directly compete with the WGA kit. I bought the Barons War stuff, but I will be buying at least one of these it's, they look fantastic. I want to buy some for painting up some Knights for Harn too.

I want them for my growing dark medieval fantasy collection, which is currently all kitbashed from various victrix sprues. These will make fine armoured orcs and cannibals for my games.

Yes, ordered. Totally agree on the excessively creased clothing. My only pet hate with Victrix. Apart from that, if the Victrix mounted knights (which I have) against the WGA foot knights (which I have) is any comparison, the Victrix product is IMHO far superior. The WGA mail isn’t a patch on the Victrix version, and the level of detail and sharpness of moulding is nowhere near as good either. The WGA figures aren’t bad at all - until you put them alongside the Victrix versions.

They do look good, but I have a big issue with the maille. It looks more like scale, the weave is all wrong, it just looks wrong. Better than the honeycomb they used to do, but Victrix still needs to learn what maille is and how it works. The Wargames Atlantic knights' maille looks better.

Nice to have some with riding splits in their maille, but they lack the corresponding split in the underlying gamble, which is just really funny 😂
