Yes. Some people are enthusing about it, some are less keen on it. What is interesting is that this is very much the first part of a trilogy of new '28' films, the second has already been filmed and will come out next year.
Might wait for the DVD.

I like a good zombie film, but I thought the zombies were all staving at the end of 28 weeks later?

Just saw this. It is not what many folks would think of as a zombie film. There are zombies, there is running and sudden death, but the movie is more existential and about what survival means. It pairs well with 40 Acres, a recent Canadian film.

Enjoyed the film, its gone down the Omega Man / I am Legend route. It'll be interesting to see how the next 2 films pan out the storyline

It was almost like two films by different directors- a coming of age film with literally odd bits of other films (including Henry V) and a quest story.

I am looking forward to the next one.

Saw it the other week and quite liked it. Some genuine artistic merit in the cinematography and good acting and plot. Enjoyed the cameo from the Swedish sailor.

The use of the Kipling poem (apparently the recording comes from 1915) and the Henry V footage to harken back to an England that may never really have existed (other than in the mind) is particularly effective.

Genuine question: If you're a kid who is saved from a pack of rage zombies by a gang of Jimmy Saville look alikes - has your situation improved?

A little bump - I absolutely loved this movie. I think a portion of people awaiting it expected a Walking Dead/28 days later type gore fest, but it is so much more than that. Additionally I think the ending understandably left a lot of people scratching their heads - I should have got it as I am an 80s child but didn't until I read up spoilers etc, it was certainly surreal!

It is very well shot and acted, cannot wait for the Bone Temple follow up.

Additionally re 28 weeks - this is an alternative world following 28 days, 28 weeks is not part of this series is a stand alone alternative to 28 days!

Re above poster, in 28 days the infected were starving at the end. The rationale in 28 years is that they have evolved and founds means of surviving as have survivors in various communities, such been to the detriment of the deer population in Kielder Forest
