Great looking armies.  Good luck in your project.

To all others the Epic A rules are available online.

Btw if you are doing 1k games, have you looked at the fan mod "minigerdon" ? It's a slight variation on the default tournament scenario (reducing number of objectives on the table to compensate for smaller armies) and provides a couple of reduced size formations for armies where their iconic formations would be impractical to take. (Imperial guard 10 leman Russ formation for 600 reduced down to 6 tanks for example) to allow those armies to keep their flagship formations in some form.

I see the point of reducing the number of objectives.

For the lists we use French community lists that look well-balanced and allow to field 4-formation forces at 1000 points.

If people show interest I'll probably add more units to make 1500-1600 pts armies.

Agree that will do nicely; can't the 'trees' be used as LOS blocking?

That said, sitting on the floor tiles, some look as if someone had been sick...  :D

Aye, 4 formations each side sounds just right!

There used to be a bigger document with the rules at some point but you can find a abridged version here: https://onyxworkshop.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/epic-minigeddon2.pdf

Its pretty simple but overall a good idea I think.

The areas of wood would block LOS trough them by RAW yes. You can look into/out of LOS blocking terrain 10cm but never trough it to the other side.

Thank you! Yes, looks like Minigeddon gives quite useful recommendations and makes game more balanced at this scale.

This Sunday we had a first demo-game. Two young Neophytes were playing under my strict control and using my mostly useful recommendations  :D

At first heretics took the initiative, but soon sisters were able to turn the tide and make some smart moves. Unfortunately to them, at the last turns their plan was thwarted by a melee action between bikes and dominions (conditions there strongly favored bold bikers) and at the end of turn 4 they utterly lost, losing 2 objectives including most important.

Interestingly - at the end both armies lost 1 formation and had 1 formation broken. Overall Renegades had a more stable and easy to play list, while Sisters have some interesting options and dirty tricks but require more skill to handle.

We have some progress. One of my clubmates printed and painted pretty 1000-points Death Korps of Krieg army, I've made more roads and we've run another demo-game.
This time it was almost classic DKOK vs Renegades struggle with diagonal deployment.

It started badly to DKOK - they had terrible rolls and traitor Leman Russes gave them hell. Fortunately, renegade footsloggers, ogryns and bikes were rather timid and preffered to sit and shoot with no real results.

At the 3rd turn Fortune turned her face to DKOK, they won initiative and sudden arrival of tunnelling engineers helped to maul renegade infantry. But grenadiers in Gorgon failde their activation roll and all plans went awry.

In the end Krieg infantry managed to charge bikers and wiped them out, grenadiers attacked Leman Russes but lost assault and retreated. Renegade ogryns on the other hand managed to rush back to their objective just in ti,e to win the game at turn 4.

It was a very fun game with a lot of dislucky rolls.

Nice table setup for your games.

Thank you! Most of all I like the roads. They look good, don't shift on the table and were incredibly easy to make!

Yes that does sound look a good game!

Yes, despite miserable DKOK dice rolls all participants had a lot of fun.

Looks like a lovely game! If you have a chance next time you play to get some better close-ups of the figures, I'd love to see them. :)

I have some closeups of Renegades and Sororitas on page 1. Have not yet uploaded DKOK photos as I have not painted them.

Oh right! I meant to ask, what army lists are you using? There are a couple ones out there and I'm always curious which one people end up going for.

We are using lists of the French Epic Armageddon community. https://www.epicarmageddon.fr/

Long ago I tried their Horus Heresy lists and found them well-balanced and quite interesting. Here we use  their 40k lists.
