18mm 3D printed Panthera minis & Papsikels droids

Hello again all,
Been quite a bit since I posted anything.
Still doing a lot of stuff though & have lots to share.
Here are some infantry from Panthera . I like his work a lot especially the split core ( separate torso & legs) .Loads of possibilities for kitbashing.

Papsikels Fukimasa Battle Droids are among the best around.

Really nice looking force there.

I especially like your colour choices on the bases, which both complement the models and also yet makes the camo colours stand out.

The base material is made up of mostly natural stuff mixed with liquid limestone acrylic sealer.

Earth, sand, tea, coffee , leaves, crayons, colour pencils ,cork etc. I found a cheap coffee grinder from Lidl that is great for grinding. Even grinds 3d printed resin supports which is super for rubble (Note i grind outside because most dust is harmful ).
Sometimes I add drops of concentrated grout colour to get different shades. I also thin white acrylic wood paste with the sealer to a sludge.Then fill old W&n plastic colour bottles with the stuff. I put a sample of it on the cap as an indicator. Scrape it off when a new batch is made. Small pieces of dried paint can be ground also.
I have around 10 different shades of green & brown, plus bright colours for alien terrain. There are loads of pics on my blog.

The plants are all hand made from dried asparagus fern leaves.Coloured according to need.

Doing camo on 15/18 mm is not easy ( doesn't look perfect under the camera ) but looks good on the table top. Paint & thin permanent markers were used to do it.

You printed to 18mm. Curious how tall are the droids? Look to be about twice the height.

The Paps mechs are around 36 - 37 mm high & base is 32mm .

Armour & transports still being done but you will like them for sure.

Oh , just to edit "Ground colour pencils " is referring to the colour bit and NOT the whole pencil ( though I think you can do that also if
you shave it first using a sharpener then the coffee grinder. Grinding the whole pencil might overload it & most probably burn the motor.

And please be very careful when using coffee grinder type machines, always remove the electrical plug before poking your fingers into it.

I also have a much heavier grinding diy contraption but using an angle grinder

Also ( in the spirit of the my usual reduce, reuse , recycle ) you can also grind the dried up paint on say citadel type tubs and it works great as it is well pigmented.

Here's what one can do with rough ground crayons for lava.

Did you give them a little blast from a heat gun to melt them into "lava"? The effect looks great either way.

The post for those lava things was done in 2016 so what i did is a bit blurry  .

Not sure what I did but if I used the old wax crayons , yes I must have used some form of heat to fuse them together . If i used the newer type of acrylic ones, then no.
According to the post I also used resin to solidify it.

I have more of them as I had space on the build plate & just printed a load of them ( can never have enough robots  )

The creator has also a nice seated/folded model in a cradle which I plan to use for a droid ship ( rem the 100's of SW droids in their cradles ? )
