AK-47 campaign August 10
« on: August 11, 2025, 05:45:51 PM »
This weeks battle we had a new player in a three way scenario to capture the Trioxin 247 chemical agent.  One of our players is fleshing out the details of a new campaign system; map based objective is determined by a random roll, the winning side then controls that area and earns campaign points based on the type of area (CP values are 1-3).  CP's may be spent during the campaign for additional points (1 CP = 100 points) or saved towards campaign victory (or anything else we devise).  This battle took place at an airfield, worth 1 CP.  The concept in our developing story is expected to accumulate in a Z-1 zombie horde battle for survival, possible closer to Halloween.

Our last battle had New Rhodesia successfully launching the Scud-B vaccine delivery rockets to help quell the Z-1 virus outbreak in Bogtu.  The UN and WHO have continued their efforts to control this outbreak by sending 2 tankers full of Trioxin 247 via Air America contracted flight.   CRAPO was represented by the country of Maite.  Maite fielded their new French backed "farm equipment" yet were still unpainted.  Their fellow CRAPO member of Bogtu was absent.  Reports are that General Bombata of Bogtu is in quarantine.  Rumors also say that he was eaten by his own crocodile.  Our new player (Principality of Drakka) fielded a very modern force of US equipment but is rumored to be a German backed colony.  They had a few errors in their list but it was their first game and nothing game breaking.  Of course the ever vigilant stabilizing force for good in the region, New Rhodesia, was there to do their part for the greater good.

I fielded a very small force for New Rhodeisa (pro attack helo, pro 2 APC-HMG with 4 infantry, 2 regular standard tanks, and 2 units of regulars of 5 infantry and truck-AA); I was not feeling very confident pregame in such a small man power force.  But the sun shined brightly on New Rhodesia and granted us a unit upgrade (regular tanks became professional) and USAID came through with 3 more armored Meals on Wheels delivery tanks (last battle we fielded absolutely no armor).  Two of these tanks joined my existing tanks and one was added to accompany the APC's.  Apparently these tanks were still in their break in period and suffered several break downs during the game.

The New Rhodesian battle plan was altered on the field, the tanks secured the objective instead of providing supporting fire.  The APC's instead of securing the objectives, became entangled with Maite recce and militia forces on our flank.  In the end, New Rhodesia secured the Trioxin 247 and moved it to the security of our deployment zone.  Another success for New Rhodesia and the award of the first campaign point in our emerging system.

This continues to be interesting.  Good thing New Rhodesia is around - who (not the WHO who) else could take care of the situation like them?

And that "US Equipment" fielded by Drakka looks suspiciously Germanic - so perhaps there is truth to that whole "German-backed-colony" business... ;)

Yes, I guess it is a bit more German than USA.  Irs the West German box set from Team Yankee.  He did have the M109 and a few M113 off table.  But nice to have another player.  There is another new player awaiting his first gane still.  With another possible new player in the wings.  5 or 6 players is quite good for the area.

Let us not fall for the lies, half truths, and blatant propaganda distributed by the corrupt regime of New Rhodesia.  As a spokesman for the Central Region African People's Organization we denounce the aggressive and war like actions of New Rhodesia as it continues it's unprovoked attack in the Central Region.  We freely admit Bogtu is a failed state.  Instead of sending tanks New Rhodesia should send aid.  We also condemn New Rhodesia for developing the agent Trioxin 247 with it's American handlers.  The World Health Organization inspector from the last engagement delivered all the data to our intelligence services.  That data will be presented to the Security Council.  We also condemn the Drakka for entering the conflict.  Who else will bring pain and suffering to the Central Region?

Maite has entered the chat!

Reports are in that the WHO representative was eaten by the Maite cannibals.  Possible by the Naked Base Commandos led by General Butt Naked himself.

The fallen scholar is our member drawing up the new campaign format.

The cannibals are from Bogtu.  Maite is a highly cultured society.

Great stuff.  That's a lot of tanks.  They look well cared for.  They must be new.  ;)
