Same here.

Mostly bots and such with no real extra engagement.

We live in the worst timeline.

It's not just blogs - I've had it on my webstore aswell - there was a week where I went from a few visitors a day to several thousand every single day. It's data trawling.

I privatised my blogs a year or two back because of thousands of hits from the Far East.

I get no hits at all now but at least my content is safe. :-I

@Harry Stottle to be honest I never posted anything expecting someone to read them but rather as a record for myself and a way to motivate/force progress (didn’t always work)  lol

Yep, same here.  Get a ton of "views" that absolutely aren't views.  Same thing with eBay store.

If you want a more sobering context to put it in...

If you guys have heard of The Mr. Ballen Podcast (hugely popular at least here in the U.S.) you may have heard of Wondery, the company which is behind it currently.  One or two of the founders of that company left to create AI-based podcasts.

Four people, currently produce 5,000 different AI generated podcasts...producing nearly 3,000 episodes a week.  It costs them effectively nothing, and they stated that if even 20 people listen to a single short/AI generated podcast (which can be as simple as an AI voice reading news headlines to you...) they turn a profit.

In the future, all human produced  content will simply be lost in a vast sea of AI generated blogs, videos, podcasts...etc. Don't get me wrong, we'll always search out and find human-created content, but we're only at the very tip of a catastrophic level iceberg when it comes to information.  Sobering and sad.

@Elbows: Urk! That’s depressing and hints that it’ll be the little, subtle things that AI does that’ll ruin us well before the rise of the machines.  :o

Things will become even more… interesting, when the internet reaches the point where most of the content that AI bots are harvesting was generated by AI bots. At that point, AI hallucinations start getting fed back into the information chain at scale. No idea where that leads, but I doubt it will be anywhere good.

While the AI bots are starting to appear in my hits and views, I'm not finding a massive increase as even they find it too dull.

Agreed with everything said about AI 'information'.  Every time I've Googled something lately the AI-generated answer at the top of the results lists has been laughably poor and 9 times out of 10, simply made up on the spot.

Yep, the concept of a model learning from other...models which never learned properly in the first place will just exponentially destroy information or knowledge in general.  Look at how much fake information is put out daily by normal people - the AI models won't be able to distinguish from that, and will then propagate it...feeding on other AI information, etc. etc. etc.

What is worse is that some of the programming teams are using misinformation in preference to information due to different political ideologies; this is going to propagate misinformation further than otherwise and make it far more difficult to deal with. We are truly living in the misinformation age.
