D Day Perier Ridge 6mm
« on: 24 September 2025, 10:48:50 PM »
This was a fictitious scenario that was based on some units of the 21 Pz Div moving closer to the Sword Beach landing area than they did historically on June 6 A very open area (no buildings) wiith a low ridge in the center of the table 8th company and panzer grenidiers of the 192 Pzgrd Rgt were tasked with meeting the British advance from Hermanville sur Mer as far forward as possible.
The German player had a grenadier platoon mounted in U304 (f) HTs and 3 S307 (f) self propelled halftracks with Pak40s There was also a unit of 8cm mortars and 2 Pak 43s offboard for support
The Brits had a company of infantry from the KSLI and 3 troops from the Staffs Yeo

Interesting.  Sounds like the Germans put up quite a fight...

Looks great! Currently working my way through my 21st Pzr in 15mm for Normandy (and my Grandad was KSLI and went in through Sword).

I heartily recommend the book D day Tank Hunter by Hans Holler  Gives a good description of the confusion among German units in the Sword Beach area  Link to Amazon but do try to buy from an independent dealer: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=d+day+tank+hunter&hvadid=631610884451&hvdev=c&hvexpln=0&hvlocphy=9191519&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=15450935280115758839--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15450935280115758839&hvtargid=kwd-1678811058853&hydadcr=7692_13589686&mcid=62777aae2b7c3202ad452209094bbd33&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_jlh153rvz_e

I really like TFL's I Ain't Been Shot Mum  The ground scale is perfect for 6mm gaming  Loads of AARs on the Vis Lardica site:
