It's not you in particular, Rick. This is just one of those topics that, of course, are
a ) of interest to many for obvious practical reasons,
b ) at the same time inherently political beyond the purely economic scope.
The main problem, to my mind, is that discussing the political aspects which we cannot influence in the short term only serves to increase frustration and rile up people in this environment while not yielding any tangible benefit, such as tips how to make the best of it or find solutions for the resulting issues (hard to do in such cases, I'll admit).
There are other venues for "political discussion", this is for the hobby. I for one could lament the shameful abandonment of ordoliberalism (or what passed for it in the English-speaking world), which to my mind is the root cause of today's socioeconomic problems, for ages and pages, but nobody wants to hear that either, and it won't take us anywhere.
So please focus on practical information on the issue, if you come across such. That will actually be helpful as opposed to taking snide potshots at various targets, both present and hypothetical.
