Burke and Hare, ressurectionists extraordinaire

Hello everyone, should probably introduce myself, I'm a 15 year old painter, sculptor and modeller currently residing in Edinburgh, two time deamon winner, one 1st in category at salute. Known variously as Aquila, squiggy, squig hunter, sculpta the squig and voiceofthewarp across the intertubes.

That done, I thought you guys might be interested in my newest project, a scene showing Burke and Hare, the infamous ressurectionist duo, delivering a corpse to Dr. Knox. This is for Iron Painter, a tournament style competition, where painters are paired up for a round, given a theme and two weeks to do an entry for that theme in, better painter stays on, untill you have one Iron Painter. The theme for this round was 'cold blooded', and I thought doing Burke and Hare would be more interesting than just doing some random lizardman.

I'm scratchbuilding EVERYTHING for this scene, bit of a perfectionist in terms of conveying the scene as I am, and as an exersize in sculpting and scratchbuilding (I do take commisions, if I might be so whoreish to say so)

Here's what I've got so far, deadline is the 3rd of January, so I'm hoping to finish off all the construction by the end of this week so I have a full week to paint it all.

Both sculpts are true 28mm, done with a greenstuff/milliput mix (they're equally tall, but the picture on the left was just bigger)



And here's the cart for the base, sans corpse presently, I'll be adding that tommorow if all goes to plan, then onto the base and plinth



So, I hope you all like them, comments and feedback are very much appreciated, and if mods think it should be in the pulp forum, feel free to move it, was a bit unsure about where to post it.

Progress Plinth constructed and done, cast up a load of 'bricks' in a mold I'd made out of an old rubber (eraser) with some plaster of paris, which I used extensively, brilliant stuff, the door is just some plasticard and the pommel of a placcy sword (only manufactured part in the entire thing), the cobbles didn't photo well, but I'm pleased with them, just carved out of the solid plaster with a small metal spoon shaped sculpting tool I got in a set, looks quite effective. Just need to sculpt some feet onto the corpse in the cart and the sheet over it, which should be fairly easy.

Hoh, yeah. I was still too unsure of painting back when I was 15 let alone using green stuff on anything. But procrastination is as procrastination does, no?

Since you're in Edinburgh, have you been along to the Surgeon's Hall museum ?
