Prypiat
« on: December 26, 2009, 09:02:36 PM »
An image stuck in my head for the last 2 years, and I suddenly got the urge to build it.

More 28mm scaled then 20mm, I only had the first pic to go on. Of course, Google is your friend and then I see a traffic sign and a wreath, giving me a hint of the scale. And I need to recut 1 letter a bit. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WAX48Ob6pzI/Sk8Mq2jjNVI/AAAAAAAADec/E3QZF1fthCc/s1600-h/IMG_2390.jpg

But other then that I think it is ok. Still plenty of work to do.

Very unusual and splendidly done.

A sign for the city of Prypriat in the standard over the top Russian concerete style. It used to house the workers for the nuclear plant in Chernobyl. I want it for the roadway leading into the deserted city, one of the several soviet monuments/landmarks I'm working on but progress is slow as almost everything has to be built from scratch.

That would be a cool setting for a post-apoc game..
Or alternative history...

Love it! A real attention-getter. Who makes the figure?

One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

Very nice and what a coincidence!
I am playing Stalker: The Call of Pripyat at the moment and was thinking: "What a nice post Apocalyptic setting..."

Your sign gives me more ideas...
Thanks for sharing.
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

@ Wolf: It is from Elhiem, 20mm scale though.

@Agis: I had the same thoughts with the original Stalker and started hoarding appropriate kit for it. But alas, to create a derelict Soviet atmosphere there is much scratchbuilding to be done, so it is taking time.

Very nice. Was wondering when I'd start seeing Pripyat themed terrain after CoD 4 and later, when the STALKER game came out. It'll look smashing when you've got it all done up and stuff.

Ooh  :o Those are rather useful. What scale are those? Got more pictures or even a game in progress?

Sir, those figs are the Biz! (even if they are in the wrong scale for me)

And I think I just found out what I can do with some of the unwanted cheap MiG-15's  and MiG-17's I have > http://www.aviamonuments.ru/

they are from Russian miniatures company named "Ratnik miniatures" .

Company makes  interesting lines of post apocalyptic (stalker style) miniatures, modern russian army miniatures and fantasy dwarfs Vs goblins minis.
All of their stuff 28mm. And compatible with classic sci fi lines like cooplestone castings.

Some more examples of their stuff painted by me:

and unpainted ones:
