Foundry flesh Colours

For those of you not on Foundrys mailing list , they have increased there range of flesh colours. I quite like a lot of the foundry paints , apart from the annoying lids which break very easily. I use the flesh tones for the majority of my painting ( also use negro from Coat d Arms for darker african skin  colours).

Don't forget the 6 colours flesh set from Andrea Miniature. Awesome and affordable. My favorite for flesh tones.

Very much the same for me. Handy triads, nice paints. They're just a bit thick so you must be careful with thinning, especially in faces, which are probably the most important single area when it comes to detail.

The pot called "flesh light" is always bothering me, somehow. I'm not sure if I wanted ten of them in every possible ethnic colour. I'll consider a sub-set or two, though, if I ever have to paint an exotic army from some corner of the world.

the Andrea paint set is only £1.50 less than the Foundry 6 paint set and contains roughly half the amount of paint (6 x 17ml as opposed to 6x 30ml) so not quite the bargain it looks.

And their currency conversion rate is still daylight robbery and/or outright murder. Business as usual. Don't buy a thing without a UK proxy who uses reasonable shipping rates.

Better value from Andrea then, but still not as cheap as some claim 104ml for £13.55 against 120ml for £15.00 is virtually the same price.

As most folks who buy from Foundry (myself included) know, the secret here is to buy in bulk and buy during sales.

During their Christmas sale, for example, when they had everything 20% off, I made an order which was over 100 British pounds, and got shipping free.

I think I'll get myself these. Currently using GW Dark Flesh, but a bit of skin tone variation on my Askari and Porters would be a good thing I think.

I'll just stick to the Reaper Master series flesh triads, thank you.  Made here in the USA at a reasonable price and come in a dropper bottle so I dont have to break my finger nails trying to pry the Foundry lids off.

I'm just dying to know what " South American" flesh tone means. Gisele Bundchen? Milton Nascimento? Diego Maradonna? Magareth Menezes? Even within my family there's probably more than nine quids worth of difference in hue.

[facepalms]'South American Flesh Tone'[/facepalms]  I wish paint companies could stick to the traditional names for paints. There could be a endless number of nuances named 'Dark Umber' but I don't see how calling it 'Troll Snot' or '2649 German Transmission Fluid' helps any.
