Modern (2005+) UK Cops with Guns
« on: 24 January 2010, 01:15:28 PM »
Does anyone know of any manufacturers who produce 'proper' modern uk cops with guns? Not SWAT types but stab/tactical vests, G36's, etc?
Remember: the dice are not your friends!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Kev White's Hasslefree miniatures carry a 'not hot fuzz' inspired Nicholas Angel and Danny which may be of help, apart from that currently thin on the ground, a few riot squad minis from offensive miniatures and again hasslefree. I know Kev's working on G36's so I think that more cops are due, though check out WIP pages on the hasslefree homepage as there are a few new tooled up surivors that may proxy nicely.

Thanks, have some of those and checked the Hasslefree - nice 'tooled up' Ken (b) available n love the Hasslefree way!

Ok, next Q - I am trying to commission some of the above figures cos there are a lot of BBC shows and big movies set in the UK re: post-apocalypse (of many flavours - Eddie Izzard as Torreance, anyone? Great casting! (Or would be if designer likes?)) and cops would be on the frontline. Have a look on google images for SO19 and street cops on patrol.

SO, I have one chap 'having a go' - anyone else willing to offer? Not made of money but willing to pay costs, etc. Or a Eureka LibertyUnion-thingie? :)

Just wait a while mate things on the horizon, (we are all post apoc players looking for a little police related action) so shouldn't be long now. Oh and for the love of god don't go down the wargames factory route! ;)

hi
you might be able to convert the offensive miniatures riot police
The main thing to do would be to replace their helmet heads with bare heads
here's a link

hope this helps
dex
they do some very nice rioters too which are always handy for PA

A lot of forces still use the MP5, either solely or with the G36. I presume you are looking at area armed response rather than CO19 types, in which case you could get away with 'combat trousers' and vests with bare heads for a response deployment. However with advanced notice, your area guys would be kitted out in 'riot helmets' (or PASGT if a flash force) and body armour. Baseball caps are commonly worn too. The normal patrol cap or typical bobby's helmet are only worn when actually on patrol, when it comes time to stop posing and actually do something, these get left in the car.

Such a simple sentence, but it just conjures up so much anticipation!

I SOOOOOOOOO agree! Is it being suggested that my plans to start my own range of UK police officers is defunct?

Also, never got to wear the 'sandwich hider' helmet but I agree that the 'flattie' is left in the car when it kicks off...and the helmet just falls off and gets kicked around in a scuff!

Have just organised an artist to do some sketches for UK street gangs -I like the Offensive stuff, Street Violence too 'future' and a fading range (!) and have ordered some of Bobby Jackson's Thugz from the US BUT, dunno, perhaps my age, just want 'homegrown' gangers! I see them on the streets and meet wannabes at my new job, plus UK has 'unique' gangs

Pssst! Put me out of my misery - which lovely geezer/company will be making my modern Brit cop world complete?

If they're to your taste, have a look at the No Go Zone range of figures.

Thnaks, saw those at Salute 2009 and a few places since, nice, might get some but just this blessed obsession at the moment.

Have also got some of the Geezers! range, nice cops there but, again, a bit 'old school' for me.
