Kaiserschlacht table for Tactica 2010
« on: February 21, 2010, 10:32:43 AM »
A WWI project the "Spieltrieb Frankfurt" guys are doing for the Tactica in Hamburg this year.
It´s called Kaiserschlacht and there are some nice pictures of their work found here:

Some miniatures and the first drawing:

The insanity of European gamers is inspiring and glorious!  lol

That is an awesome board - I especially like that the trenches seem to be a realistic width; many model trenches are far too wide, to accomodate oversized bases on figures. Nice.

(note that for ordinary 28mm figures, I consider any base over 20mm wide to be "oversized"... I'm aware this is a minority view, but apparently the makers of this awesome board agree with me!)

Added a link to some more photos including miniatures and the sketch.

Some specials:
The guys are working since october 2009.
A part of the table is interchangable to display an english trench before and after heavy shelling.
The whole table has a soft decline and no visible seams.

What an absolutely fantastic board.  :-*  I loved the ingenious way you separated the terrain sections, and the "before and after" bombardment idea.  Make sure you take loads of pictures at Tactica and post them!! :)

What an excellent set up. I love the trench system. THough I feel sorry for the models that have to go "over the top" as I fear many won't be on the table long.

Latest and last photos before Tactica.
Test game on the not yet finished table. (Still two days left to work :D)

I packed extra batteries for my camera and wiped the memory card. Tactica can come.
