Having a go at this fantasy thing sort of...
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:37:35 PM »
It's mainly Svenns fault but he suggested a long while ago that I should broaden my horizons.

So I did.

Had a go at some tale of war spartans to have a real go at lots of flesh

Then confrontation kelts

and then just for colours I don't paint well an GW handgunner in Ostermark Livery

he isn't quite finished as you can see from the phials under the gun.

Not really sure that the flesh is any good but its better than I've done before, but happy with the GW figure.

Let me know what you think, I would really appreciate it.

thanks

As it is apparently my fault I had better be quick to reply.

Your comments betray a concern for your flesh yet you have tackled, successfully, both the Spartans and Celts. Quite a change from the 20th C. stuff I have seen you post before where you only have a face and hands to do and the tricky yellow on the GW chap is stronger than the Melnibone troops I remember.

To my eye a success allround, are we going to see some fresh Bolsheviks now then?

Svenn  ;)

Your fault in only the loosest most tongue in cheekily way  :D you actually just got me thinking about other colours and stuff and what I could paint to do that

The flesh on the kelts doesn't show the 3 months of tithering and repainting before I thought well ok,

The kelts 4 weeks and the empire soldier 4 hours of total painting so far, so it looks like some of that quality I was achieving this time last yeat is slowly coming back.

No Reds from me my mate gordy does those but you should expect a few whites and some more chinese and possibly some buildings that have been lying around for more than a year!

Dflyn - Thanks a lot for your kind comments

Well done mate, they are looking good.

They are all a little bit historical though aren't they?

Next step is painting something that isn't human or human coloured...

Like an orc!  :o  :)

I will check they are pretty big,

go quite nicely alongside the confro kelts

I'll try and do a comparison but I think they are around 28mm foot to eye

Those spartans are out of the 300 so more fantastical than historic

wanted to use them with some crocodile mini's spartans in broadsword adventures
