Rare Ka-Ka Tree
« on: 10 March 2010, 10:52:28 PM »
Gents,
Below is a tree I just picked up in the seasonal section of Walgreens for $1.50.
It was a heavy resin rock base, plastic trunk and fabric leaves. The base comes flocked.
I think it will work just fine as a yet another example of unknown jungle flora.

It stands about 8" tall.
Good hunting.

Tom

Next thing you're going to tell us is that there are several different versions of that one, all for the same price, right?

Why, oh why can't we get anything like that over here...  >:(

Change the foliage and that's a superb tree for many settings.

Then I sincerely hope this chap never has the misfortune to sign for Anderlecht!  :)

Kaká.

Love the tree, not so sure about the leaves. At the very least they need repainting, possibly replacing with something else altogether.  ???

What game do you have in mind for the tree? Which team will the tree be
on?

I really like the shape of the trunk. It would look right at home in some jungle or swamp. Will it detache easily from the rock?

I do agree with Dewbakuk, it would be even better with some different foliage. May have to visit our local Walgreens today.   :D

I havnt tried to remove the trunk, but as it is plastic and the base seens to be resin, it should come off one way or the other. Good luck at your Walgreens, I've searched in vain at every Walgreens in my area for more of these trees. :-[

I have quite a number of trees by this company.  I bought them from a failed store that was selling them for 1/2 off.  They produce a variety of "bonsai" in various containers.  This is the first one of this type and base that I have seen.  They are just hot glued in place.  So just grasp the trunk at the base and pull firmly and they usually come off quite well.
